Roger Linton, MBE (1939-present), conservator, designer and landscape gardener, welcome you what has been his and his life partners, Peter Thorogood, MBE (1927-2025) family home for over 40 years. Together with the help of family members and friends they saved St Mary’s from semi-dereliction in 1984 and have brought the St Mary’s Estate to its present splendour. They received MBE’s from Queen Elizabeth II for services to conservation and the arts.
Roger is now supported by close friends and volunteers who are all working with him to keep the wonderful estate going.

Everyone at St Mary’s wants to welcome and help visitors who might have limited mobility; volunteers are always there to advise and help if needed. Visitors in wheelchairs may visit the ground floor rooms and the gardens. There is a toilet for wheelchair users next to the tea-room and shop. There are clear-print room guides in every room.
